Athletic sports have had a very strong presence at TAD since the 1930's when we were called the Silent Athletic Club. This tradition continues even now and each year we usually field several teams for each sport - last year we had 6 men's and 4 women's teams. Many people seek membership almost exclusively for our sporting events.
We're always looking for new players and coaches for both the Women's and Men's teams! To be part of a TAD team you must be a TAD member and reside anywhere within Ontario. We play in the ODSA tournaments.
Currently, we field teams for: volleyball, floor hockey, soccer, slo-pitch (baseball), basketball and darts.
The TAD team colours are usually blue and gold, although we do have other colours. Our men's slow-pitch team recently had white and blue uniforms, for example.
Local games take place at various locations around the Greater Toronto Area, and tournaments will take us anywhere in Ontario. Our indoor practice sessions are usually held at the gyms of the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, in Toronto, which has gracefully allowed us the use of their facilities.
Game times and locations can be found by clicking on the "Upcoming Tourneys" link above. If you have any further questions or inquiries you can contact our sports director by clicking here.
